The maneuvers between America and South Korea “military provocation”

North Korea has condemned large -scale joint military training, which is scheduled to be implemented by the South Korean and American armies, describing it as a “direct military provocation”, and warned of a reaction, despite indications of the decline of tension across the border in light of the assumption of a new leadership of the reins of matters in Seoul.
North Korean Defense Minister No Kwang-Chol said that the army carries a “basic mission” of defending national security in the face of widespread training that will last 11 days between South Korea and the United States, which he said constituted a real and serious threat.
“The armed forces of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will deal with the military training of the United States and (the south) firmly and persistently, and it will exercise its right to preserve its sovereignty with all its power,” Nou said in a statement issued through the North Korean Central News Agency.
South Korea and the United States announced last week that the annual exercises will start on August 18 to test the leadership control and mobilize the forces, as part of a security strategy to counter the increasing threat to launch a nuclear war by North Korea.
