Damascus wants to build a new page with Lebanon and not control it

Agencies – Damascus:
Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara stressed that the political division cannot build a state, and added that political visions based on sects and norms will lead to disrupting the state.
On the Syrian -Lebanese relations, Al -Shara stressed the need to overcome the stage of relations between the two countries in the era of the Assad family’s rule, stressing his refusal to say a river of fire between the two countries.
Al -Sharaa explained that Lebanon has suffered from Syrian policies during the past years, especially for the rule of Hafez and after him Bashar al -Assad, and said: Damascus wants to start a new page with Lebanon and does not want to control it, indicating that the new Syria has given up the wound caused by Hezbollah’s attacks on it.
He added that there are many aspects of economic and investment cooperation that can be the basis for the Syrian -Lebanese relations in the coming period, expressing his rejection of the theories of Syria’s secession from Lebanon, and he mentioned that Iran lost the so -called “resistance” axis all its loss to Damascus and has a desire to return in one way or another.
Al -Sharaa added that Syria has been affected during the past years negatively on the Lebanese situation and we need a new white page to improve the Syrian -Lebanese relations, and the most important thing in which it canceled the past negative memory.
He continued: «After our arrival in Damascus, it was our right to take a reaction to Hezbollah based on what he did in Syria during the past years, which was available and blessed internationally, but I chose not to go in this direction that most Lebanese might welcome, but this is a minefield and a wrong step in which the situation exploded.
Al -Shara considered that there is pressure in Lebanon, and I am afraid of the explosion of the situation internally that may lead to a disaster, and he continued: “Lebanon needs a very sensitive surgery and must come out of its crisis in a way that everyone feels a winner.”
The Syrian President stressed that there is a consensus with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France and America about the vision towards Lebanon, but the matter needs a clear program to implement this consensus and a time plan to work on, indicating that the most prominent challenge in Lebanon is to avoid the civil war.
