A thousand people were killed in the ground collapse in the village of Tersen in Darfur

The number of victims of the ground collapse in the village of Tersen in Darfur province, western Sudan, has reached one thousand people so far, while the recovery of the bodies continues, as about 90 bodies have been recovered by local tools.
The spokesperson for the Sudan Liberation Army, Muhammad Al -Nayer, reported that all the villagers were killed except for one survivor, and confirmed the existence of local efforts to recover the bodies.
The movement had announced that only one person had survived from the landslide, and added that the landslide occurred last Sunday after heavy rains, noting that large and destructive earthquakes led to the complete destruction of the village of Tersen – east of Jabal Marra, near the Sony region, and the death of its entire population of more than a thousand people, only one person escaped.
The movement stressed that the village was completely settled on the ground as a result of this earthquake, appealing to the United Nations, regional and international organizations, and the living human conscience, helping us to recover the bodies of the dead from under the soil, which are estimated at more than a thousand men, women and children.
For his part, the governor of the Darfur province, Mona Arko Minawi, described that what happened in the village of Tersen in the human tragedy that exceeds the borders of the region, and added in a post on his Facebook page that the region lost a large number of citizens in a devastating natural disaster.
He appealed to the governor of the Darfur region of international humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to provide support and assistance, describing the situation as a critical moment.
