Faisal bin Farhan meets Raisi and gives him an invitation from King Salman to visit Saudi Arabia


The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, handed the Iranian President, Ibrahim Raisi, an invitation from King Salman to visit the Kingdom, during the Iranian President’s reception to him today in Tehran, which he arrived today, Saturday, in his first visit to the Iranian capital since the agreement to restore relations between the two countries.

In a press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, the Saudi foreign minister stressed, on Saturday, “the importance of security cooperation between the two countries, to ensure that the region is free of weapons of mass destruction.”

He said he would convey “the invitation of the Saudi monarch, King Salman Abdulaziz, to Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to visit the kingdom.”

He explained that “the Saudi-Iranian talks were frank and clear.”


Prince Faisal bin Farhan said, “Iran has provided facilities for the return of diplomatic missions to work.”

He stated that “the relations between the two sides are based on the need for mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.”

The Saudi foreign minister added, “We hope that the return of Saudi relations with Tehran will be reflected in the region and the world.”

Prince Faisal bin Farhan welcomed “the arrival of Iranian pilgrims to perform the holy sites.”

For his part, Abdullahian said, “The talks with the Saudi foreign minister dealt with cooperation in several fields, especially economic relations.”

He stated that he discussed with the Saudi foreign minister “regional and international issues.”

After the press conference, the Iranian President received the Saudi Foreign Minister, who handed him an invitation from King Salman to visit the Kingdom.
