We will defend Belarus in every way

After Poland deployed forces near the borders of Belarus, the Russian ambassador to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, emphasized that the Polish authorities and the West as a whole should understand that Moscow and Minsk are ready to repel any threatregardless of its nature and size.

We will deal with any threat.

“In Warsaw, as well as in the West as a whole, they must understand that our country is ready to repel any threat, regardless of its nature and size. We have every opportunity for that,” Gryzlov said in press statements, today, Saturday.

He also added that the recent steps taken by the Polish authorities cannot be classified as preparations for large-scale aggressive actions: “Poland has announced plans to strengthen its military presence on the border with Belarus and build new defensive structures there.”

“Not aggressive acts”

He said, “From the point of view of military science, the recent steps and statements of the Polish authorities can only be classified as preparations for large-scale aggressive provocations or actions… We are talking about at least a thousand soldiers and nearly 200 pieces of equipment from two mechanized brigades, in addition to the units already located along the border.”

Border training

And Minsk had announced that the fighters of the Russian Wagner Group would train with the Belarusian special forces, a few miles from the border with Poland.

So Warsaw announced the deployment of its forces on the border, indicating that it was ready for “different scenarios according to the development of the situation.”

The Secretary of the Security Committee in Poland, Zbigniew Hoffman, said on Friday that it was decided to transfer military formations from the west of the country to the east due to potential threats associated with the presence of the Wagner Group in Belarus, according to the local news agency.

Deploy a thousand soldiers on the border

Warsaw’s remarks came in conjunction with the transfer of about 1,000 of its soldiers to the border earlier this month, according to what was reported by the British newspaper “The Independent”.
