Donald Trump said that he “accepted” an “apology” from the FBI after the bureau confirmed he had been shot by a bullet during an assassination attempt earlier this month.

Trump was speaking on Friday night at The Believers’ Summit 2024 at a Turning Point Action event in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Earlier on Friday, the FBI confirmed Trump had been clipped in the ear by a gunman’s bullet 13 days ago at a Pennsylvania rally.

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the bureau said in a statement.

Trump also says he will return to Butler, Pennsylvania, the scene of the attempt on his life on July 13, to hold “a big and beautiful rally’ to honor firefighter Corey Comperatore, who died that day when struck by gunfire.

On Friday, the former president hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his home in Palm Beach. Trump said he found Kamala Harris’s remarks about the Israel-Hamas conflict after her meeting with Netanyahu “disrespectful”.

Trump ‘accepts’ FBI apology over bullet claim

“Did you see the FBI today apologize?” Trump told the crowd at The Believers’ Summit 2024 at a Turning Point Action event in West Palm Beach, Florida on Friday evening.

“Well, they said it might have been a bullet, but it might have been glass. So really, where did the glass come from? Or it might have been shrapnel, where the shrapnel come from? No. They then said it was a bullet.

“It just never ends with these people. They raid Mar a Lago, they do things so bad, so bad. Our country is so sick. But they apologize. We accept their apology.”

Trump compares decision to replace Biden to ‘coup’ and calls Harris a ‘bum’ in Florida speech

Donald Trump is lashing out against Democrats for pressuring Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, comparing it to a “coup” conducted by “fascists.”

“There was nothing nice about what they were doing,” he said.

Trump also attacked Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, as a “bum” and the “most incompetent, unpopular, and far left vice-president in American history.”

As expected, Trump addresses shooting early on in speech

Donald Trump didn’t waste time on Friday at the Turning Point Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida, and quickly addressed the recent assassination attempt against him.

“I stand before you thanks to the power of prayer and the grace of almighty God,” Trump said.

He told the crowd today’s speech marks the first time he’s been able to take the bandage off his ear.

“I hope that’s it,” he said.

Ben Carson claims Trump isn’t racist in warm-up speech at Turning Point Believers Summit

Former Trump administration Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is currently speaking at the Turning Point Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump himself is expected to speak shortly.

Carson, who is Black, is telling the crowd about how in his experience, Donald Trump is not a racist.

‘I haven’t seen anything about him that even seems slightly racist to me,” he said.

Carson credited Trump for not running a segregated club when he moved to Florida, which was the norm at the time, the former official said.

As evidence of his friend’s lack of racism, Carson pointed to how Trump treated his employees.

“He knows their name,” he said. “He works with them. He loves them. They love him.”

Trump was hit by a bullet in the ear during rally shooting, FBI confirms

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the bureau said in a statement.

Trump quickly replied in a post on his Twitter clone, Truth Social, writing, “I assume that’s the best apology that we’ll get from Director Wray, but it is fully accepted!”

The director’s comments inspired furious condemnation from Republicans.

COMMENT: Will the most famous ‘childless cat lady’ of them all now declare for Kamala?

When Taylor Swift’s cat was photographed luxuriating around her neck on the cover of Time magazine, it confirmed one thing: not only was the singer its most recent “person of the year”, but she was also, without question, queen of the cat ladies.

And, as any fule no, the last thing you do when confronted with a powerful feline, is to yank its tail. Well, the same goes for cat ladies – as JD Vance might be about to discover.

Another bad look for Vance: Trump VP pick endorsed book calling left ‘unhumans’ written by Pizzagate conspiracy theorist

Trump VP pick JD Vance endorsed a book by Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec which calls progressive and civil rights activists “unhumans,” and claims that January 6 was a hoax.

The book, Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them), by Posobiec and Joshua Lisec, purports to be a history of progressive social movements, but is full of dubious factual claims and scathing opinions dismissing the views of millions of Americans, according to Mother Jones, which reviewed a copy of the book.

The “unhumans” the authors identify include civil rights activists, Black Lives Matter demonstrators, as well as communists and socialists.

“They don’t believe what they say,” the authors write at one point in the book. “They don’t care about winning debates. They don’t even want equality. They just want an excuse to destroy everything. They want an excuse to destroy you.”

A series of recent mini-scandals, such as Vance dismissing childless women as “cat ladies,” has some Republicans regretting Trump’s pick.

Trump rants ‘he’s not going to be nice’ as he ditches unity calls

The former president turned his attacks to Kamala Harris, his new presumptive rival come November, following her endorsement by Biden – who he claimed to have “defeated.”

The event in North Carolina came days after Biden announced he was withdrawing from the White House race and threw his support behind Harris to beat Trump.

Mike Bedigan has the story.
