Our priorities are to stop the Israeli aggression and preserve Lebanon’s security

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati confirmed that the government’s priorities are to work on a ceasefire and stop the Israeli aggression.
The National News Agency quoted Mikati as saying during his meeting with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, who arrived in Beirut, saying, “The government’s priorities at this stage are to work to achieve a ceasefire, stop the Israeli aggression, and preserve the security of Lebanon and the safety of its people.”
Mikati stressed “Lebanon’s commitment to implementing International Resolution 1701, strengthening the army’s presence in the south, and making the necessary contacts with the resolution states and the United Nations to pressure Israel to fully implement the resolution.”
The Iranian Parliament Speaker, accompanied by two Hezbollah representatives, inspected the site of the most violent Israeli raid that targeted the heart of Beirut on Thursday, killing at least 22 people.
