The Syrian army launched a “counterattack” in the Hama Governorate in central Syria, while announcing that the city of Hama was secured by about 20 kilometers after killing a number of members of armed organizations and destroying their vehicles.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the Syrian army was able to expel the armed factions, which made widespread progress in the north of the country following an attack that began last week.
He explained that “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allied factions failed to control Mount Zain al-Abidin near the city of Hama following fierce battles with (Syrian forces), which launched a counterattack with air support.”
He added that the attack enabled the army to push the factions “about 10 kilometers away from the city of Hama.”
