“Islamic Cooperation” expresses its regret for the American decision to lift the legal immunity of “UNRWA”

Jeddah – SPA:
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has regretted the decision of the United States of America to lift the legal immunity of the UNRWA agency, stressing the need for countries to respect all their obligations under the United Nations Charter and its relevant decisions, including the United Nations Privileges and Functions Agreement.
The organization again emphasized the vital role that is indispensable and cannot be replaced by this international agency, and it constitutes a lifeline for millions of Palestinian refugees, especially in the Gaza Strip, which has been witnessing a collective genocide for 17 months.
The organization called on the United States to reconsider its decision towards “UNRWA” and to resume its financing, and pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations towards this agency, which expresses the commitment and responsibility of the international community towards providing basic services to Palestinian refugees and protecting their rights until the implementation of the United Nations resolutions, especially Resolution 194.
The organization renewed its call to the international community to the need to put an end to the crime of genocide, the crime of starvation and the siege committed by the Israeli occupation, and to allow the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
