A source familiar with the island said on Friday that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) handed over the mediators to respond to the plan of US President Donald Trump to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and replace what the latter described as “peace” in the region.
The movement stated – in a statement – that it conducted “wide consultations to reach a responsible position” in dealing with the Trump plan, in order to stop the Israeli aggression.
“In order to achieve the end of the war and the full withdrawal … We declare our approval to release all the prisoners and bodies according to the Trump proposal,” expressing its “immediate” readiness to enter through the mediators in negotiations to discuss all the details.
The movement also renewed – according to the text of the statement – its approval to hand over the administration of the sector to an independent Palestinian body with a national consensus and based on Arab -Islamic support.
On Thursday, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, Mohamed Nazzal, confirmed that the movement will announce “very soon” its position on the American plan publicly, stressing its seriousness in reaching understandings from the standpoint of war and genocide in the Gaza Strip.
He explained – during an intervention with Al -Jazeera – that Hamas’s response “will not be late” and will take into account the interests of the Palestinian people, the basic constants, strategy and political considerations, stressing that it will not allow the continuation of the genocide.
He stressed that the movement does not start from nihilistic premises, but it “does not accept the logic of threats, dictates and pressures that exert such a sword of time implicated.”
He renewed Hamas’s commitment to reaching understandings from “time of blood”, and in order to stop the massacres and mass massacre before entering its third year.
According to Nazzal, Hamas received the plan last Monday evening, which was “attributed to US President Donald Trump”, and said that it had many notes, but the movement is looking for gray spaces to stop the genocide in Gaza.
President Trump gave earlier today the movement until six o’clock in the evening, Washington, DC, to hand it over to his plan.
He added on the “Truth Social” platform that the Gaza Agreement saves the lives of all the remaining Hamas fighters, warning that this is one last opportunity for Hamas.
“If the last opportunity agreement on Gaza is not reached, the unprecedented hell will be opened to Hamas.”
The White House also announced on Thursday that President Trump is awaiting Hamas’s response to his plan to stop the war in Gaza, while a White House official told Fox News that the plan is acceptable “and we expect Hamas to accept to move forward towards a more peaceful Middle East.”
On September 29, 2025, the White House issued a detailed plan calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, followed by a comprehensive program for reconstruction and reorganization of the political and security situation in the Strip.
