Syrian forces receive a military base west of Al-Hasakah

The Department of Media and Communication in the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that it had received Al-Shaddadi military base in the Hasakah countryside after coordination with the American side, according to what was reported by SANA news agency.

American forces, within the framework of the international coalition against ISIS, were stationed at the base, which was within the areas of influence of the Kurdish forces in Al-Hasakah Governorate. The base is located on the outskirts of the town of Al-Shaddadi, which used to house a prison where Kurdish forces detained members of the extremist organization, before government forces advanced into the area last month.
