The US military prevents a Chinese oil tanker from leaving Hormuz

Shipping data showed that the oil tanker “Rich Stary”, which is subject to US sanctions, returned to the Strait of Hormuz after leaving the Gulf the previous day, after it failed to breach the US blockade imposed on ships docking in Iranian ports.
The US Central Command said on the “X” platform: “During the first 24 hours, no ship was able to bypass the American blockade,” adding that 6 ships complied with the instructions of the American forces to return to an Iranian port. The Chinese-owned tanker was among at least eight ships that crossed the waterway on Tuesday, on the first day of the US blockade. An American official said that an American destroyer stopped, on Tuesday, two oil tankers that were trying to leave the Iranian port of Chabahar on the Gulf of Oman.
US sanctions were imposed on the ship “Rich Stary” and its owner, the Shanghai Xuanrun Shipping Company, for dealing with Iran, and it was not possible to contact the company to obtain a comment.
