8 injured in raids in the West Bank and settler attacks in Hebron and Ramallah | news

On Tuesday evening, the Israeli army wounded 8 Palestinians in the Bethlehem and Jerusalem governorates in the southern occupied West Bank, including 3 liberated prisoners who were beaten by its soldiers.

The occupation army also stormed other towns in the northern West Bank, one of which resulted in confrontations with Palestinians.

This comes as settlers attacked Palestinian homes and property in a number of areas in the West Bank, especially in Hebron and northern Ramallah.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army fired gas bombs and bullets during its storming of the eastern entrance to the town of Husan, located west of the city of Bethlehem.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said – through a statement – that its crews provided field treatment to 5 Palestinians who suffocated as a result of tear gas bombs in Husan.

The occupation forces also demolished an inhabited house in the same town.

The occupation forces, accompanied by military demolition vehicles, stormed the town and surrounded the house. Additional forces were deployed in its vicinity and prevented the residents from taking the contents of the house before proceeding to demolish it.

Assault and beating

In a separate statement, the Red Crescent Society stated that “its crews transferred to the hospital 3 prisoners who were released at the military enclave checkpoint in the Jerusalem Governorate, after they were severely beaten.”

In the northern West Bank, the town of Aqraba, south of the city of Nablus, witnessed confrontations between Palestinians and the occupation army, which stormed the town and detained a number of worshipers inside a mosque, according to Voice of Palestine Radio (government).

For its part, the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that the Israeli army stormed the village of Al-Mughayir, northeast of the city of Ramallah, raided a house, and detained a number of citizens, but no arrests were reported.

The army also stormed the city of Al-Bireh with several military vehicles, and detained a number of worshipers as they were leaving a mosque and checked their identities, without any arrests being reported.

Confrontations broke out after the occupation army withdrew from the vicinity of the mosque, amid the firing of gas and sound bombs.

This morning, the Israeli occupation forces also stormed the vicinity of Al-Far’a camp, south of Tubas, and carried out sweeping operations.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that a military bulldozer began bulldozing a street near the “orphan school” in the area and destroyed infrastructure, without revealing the reasons.

Settlers attacks

In another escalation, settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the “Wadi Al-Rakhim” community, in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and threw stones and Molotov cocktails towards the homes.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the attack led to a number of citizens’ vehicles catching fire.

The town of Atara, north of Ramallah, witnessed a stone attack by settlers on Palestinian vehicles, in an attempt to prevent them from crossing an alternative road, after the occupation forces closed a number of checkpoints and entrances north of Ramallah.

This morning, settlers also attacked sheep shepherds in the “Hathroura” Bedouin community, near Khan al-Ahmar, east of occupied Jerusalem, and prevented them from reaching pastures, coinciding with an occupation army force storming the area.

It is noteworthy that the West Bank is witnessing an unprecedented escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers after two continuous years of the Israeli war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip.

The attacks targeted Palestinians, their property, and their sources of livelihood, resulting in the martyrdom of 1,092 Palestinians, in addition to about 11,000 injured and more than 21,000 arrests, according to official data.
