Saudi Arabia issues 885 industrial licenses in 11 months


The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 82 new industrial licenses during the month of November, distributed over 6 industrial activities.

The report issued by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information affiliated to the Ministry indicated that the activity of manufacturing food products issued these activities with 16 licenses, followed by the activity of manufacturing other non-metallic mineral products with 14 licenses.

The number of licenses for the activity of manufacturing formed metals, excluding machinery and equipment, reached 12 licenses, then the activities of manufacturing paper and paper products, manufacturing apparel, and manufacturing chemicals and chemical products with 5 licenses for each category, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.

The report stated that the total number of industrial licenses issued by the ministry from the beginning of this year until the end of November amounted to 885 licenses, while the number of existing factories in the Kingdom until the end of the same month reached 10,742, with investments amounting to 1.419 trillion riyals.

The report stated that the volume of investments in new licenses for the month of November amounted to 7.175 billion riyals, while small enterprises acquired most of the new industrial licenses during the same month at a rate of 85.37%, followed by medium enterprises at a rate of 12.20%, then micro enterprises at a rate of 2.44%, while national factories recorded The largest percentage of the total licenses issued by type of investment at 82.93%, then foreign establishments and joint investment establishments at 8.54% for each category.

The report showed that the factories that started production during last November had reached 50 factories, with an investment volume of 830 million riyals, topped by non-metallic minerals factories with 11 factories, followed by food factories with 10 factories, chemical factories with 6 factories, then rubber and plastics factories. , base metals factories, and mineral factories formed by 4 factories for each category, while national factories accounted for the total factories that started production by 90%, followed by foreign factories with 6%, then joint factories with 4%.

The report revealed that the new industrial licenses were distributed among 10 administrative regions, topped by the Riyadh region with 30 licenses, followed by the Eastern region with 21 licenses, then the Makkah region with 10 licenses, the Madinah region with 8 licenses, the Asir region with 4 licenses, and the Qassim region with 3. licenses, then the Jizan region and Hail region with two licenses for each region, and the Al-Jawf region and the Najran region with one license for each region.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issues through the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information on a monthly basis the most important industrial indicators, which clarify the nature of the movement of industrial activity in the Kingdom, in addition to revealing the size of the change witnessed by the sector in new industrial investments, and the size of the jobs provided by the sector.
