Saudi Arabia decides to transfer the “Grains” institution to the “General Authority for Food Security”

The Saudi Council of Ministers approved, in its session today, Tuesday, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in Irqah Palace in Riyadh, to transform the “General Organization for Grains” into an authority under the name “General Authority for Food Security”, and to approve a draft organizational arrangements for it. .

For his part, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abd al-Rahman al-Fadhli, said in a tweet on the social networking site “Twitter”, that the transformation of the General Grains Corporation into a general authority for food security comes within the framework of the state’s direction, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, towards strengthening and organizing the food security system in accordance with The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the food security strategy to keep pace with global developments to ensure the supply of food commodities to the Kingdom.

For his part, the Governor of the General Authority for Food Security, Ahmed Al-Faris, said in a tweet on the “Twitter” website, that the approval of transferring the General Organization for Grains to the General Authority for Food Security; An important step that will contribute directly to the implementation and management of the national strategy for food security, to organize the sector and strengthen national capabilities in the system, in order to achieve the goals of Vision 2030.
