“Hida”, the language of camels, is on the UNESCO list

The language of communication with camels, known as “the horse”, was included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, which sheds light on the deep traditional relationship between camels and the inhabitants of the Kingdom, as a folk heritage used to communicate between camels and their owners.

In a historical journey of “shoes”, the skilled camel herder can use his voice to calm the camels and make them comply with his orders, through the vast sands of the desert and to be his comfort in the darkness of the desert. It sways on grains of sand, echoing the shepherds’ chants and the songs of the Bedouins, and after the chanting has transformed from a mere whisper of a sign, a voice, or a call to a camel, into poetic singing that combines the sweetness of the voice, the magic of rhyme and the statement, and the richness of content and meaning, derived from the Bedouin environment and their culture.

The emergence of “shoes” in history
