The “NEOM” and “The Line” projects are transformative, the likes of which the world has not seen
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Saudi Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, said that the “NEOM” and “The Line” projects are transformative the world has never seen, and will radically change the way people see urban planning.
Al-Jubeir said during his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: “I do not want to frustrate the skeptics, but NEOM is real and The Line is real..they are transformative projects that the world has not seen the likes of and will radically and revolutionary change the way people see cities and urban planning.”
He explained that it is an out-of-the-box thinking that has not been tried before and is now under construction.
In response to a question if the project was economically viable, Al-Jubeir said: “Of course it is, otherwise we would not have taken it. We do not know that we are naive. We are known for being rational and thinking for the long term. This is a long-term project and it is a very ambitious and transformative project not only for Saudi Arabia but urban life in general.
He explained that these projects are an attempt to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable city that enjoys a high standard of living quality, as there will be no traffic congestion and you can go to different areas efficiently and without the use of cars, and there will be other means of transportation as I said that are environmentally friendly and depend on renewable energy.
