American police arrest the murderer of the Gharibi envoy
Philadelphia police have arrested a Georgia woman in connection with the fatal stabbing of Saudi scholar Al-Waleed Al-Gharibi earlier this week.
Police said Nicole Marie Rodgers, 19, of Columbus, Georgia, is now in their custody.
She was charged with premeditated murder, robbery, robbery and other related charges, according to ABC6 news.
The police did not say why Rodgers stabbed the Saudi envoy, or whether they knew the victim.
The crime took place on Monday at approximately 11:50 a.m. inside a house in Building 300 on Hansbury Street in Germantown.
Police said officers found the 25-year-old stabbed in the neck in the third-floor bathroom. Gharibi was announced dead at the scene.
