New Google.. a tool for editing images with artificial intelligence

Google has officially announced a new image editing tool called Imagen Editor that allows users to make specific adjustments to images based on text commands that the user writes.

Google has designed its new tool to make it easy to use, so all the user has to do is upload the desired image, select the area he wants to modify within the image, then write the adjustments he wants to make, so that the Imagen Editor tool will implement them immediately within the specified area without affecting the rest of the image.

Google offered many examples, including an example of a dog image, and when you select the dog’s body and write “red spacesuit with a white star”, the tool accurately integrates the spacesuit into the specified area. In the same way, the tool added a “cardboard rocket” and “blue gaming headphones” to the image of the dog with amazing accuracy.

The tool can perform many other tasks such as erasing unwanted elements in the background, changing the color of the sky in the image, adding elements accurately that match the character of the image without spoiling it, as well as changing some elements completely to other things, or completing images, and other useful tasks that It currently takes a long time and many steps to complete it using traditional methods, in addition to extensive experience with photo editing programs.

As is clear, this tool relies on artificial intelligence to analyze images and the elements in them, as well as to understand the text commands that the user writes.

This tool will enable ordinary users who do not have any experience with advanced photo editing software to make complex edits in just a few seconds.

The developers of the Google Imagen Editor thanked the authors of the research for the DALL-E 2 AI image generation model for allowing them to use the output of their model to develop the tool.

Google also introduced the EditBench tool, which measures the quality of various photo editing models.

Although the Imagen Editor tool has the potential to turn the world of image editing and photography upside down, Google has decided not to release the tool to the public at the present time, for fear of misuse of image manipulation, and instead made available the research paper that contains all the technical details of the tool to interested professionals. .

Google has not set a date for releasing the tool to the public, but if it did, it would have to take drastic measures, such as placing metadata and tags inside images to show they were modified by the tool.

It is reported that Google is currently testing the feature of converting text into an image within various applications such as the Google Slides presentation application, and it has also announced the Magic Editor in the Photos application earlier, and these are tools that Google promised to provide to the public.
