The arrival of astronauts Rayana Barnawi and Ali Al-Qarni to Riyadh
On Friday, Saudi astronauts Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni arrived in the capital, Riyadh, after the success of the scientific mission they led at the International Space Station.
They were received at King Khalid International Airport by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Agency, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Dr. Munir Al-Dasouki, and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Agency, Dr. Muhammad Al-Tamimi. Dr. Majed Al-Fayyadh, CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
And the Saudi Space Agency announced that the safe arrival of astronauts Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni to the homeland will reflect its results on the service of humanity, and will also strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the field of space research and science, and constitute a source of inspiration for the youth of the country in various fields.
The agency confirmed that the pioneering scientific contributions achieved during this scientific journey are a source of pride for this country, with the support and empowerment of Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Space Council, pointing out that the mission achieved a number of goals that work. The Kingdom must, foremost among them, qualify Saudi astronauts who inspire future generations to reach new horizons that serve humanity.
It is noteworthy that the two Saudi astronauts, Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni, returned from their space mission to Earth on the thirty-first of May, during which they conducted 14 pioneering scientific research experiments in microgravity, including three educational and awareness experiments over a period of three days, in which 12 thousand students participated. In 47 locations in the Kingdom via satellite.
