Senator Cruz urges the House of Representatives to consider impeaching Biden
Republican Senator Ted Cruz urged the Republican-majority House of Representatives to consider impeachment proceedings against President Biden, after an IRS investigator investigating Hunter Biden told Congress that the president’s son subpoenaed his father to pressure a Chinese business partner with a conversation. Via WhatsApp, he claimed that Biden, his father, was in the room while he was making deals.
Asked at what point the investigation and problems with Hunter Biden turn into a case for the president that could lead to efforts to impeach Biden by Republicans, Cruz said: “It is now.”
And Cruz continued, “Look, the WhatsApp case is direct evidence that Joe Biden abuses his governmental power to enrich his son, and assumes 10% for the big man, to enrich himself.”
The House needs to investigate, but the amazing thing is what the IRS whistleblower says about the Department of Justice, Merrick Garland, obstructing even the investigation of these letters.”
Garland has denied any involvement in the Hunter Biden investigation.
And Cruz discussed allegations from an IRS whistleblower unearthed by House Republicans this week, with an investigator in the Hunter Biden investigation claiming there were unprecedented efforts to block investigations into Joe Biden during the 2020 campaign and during his presidency.
Whistleblower Gary Shapley Jr., who oversaw the IRS investigation into the president’s son, said the IRS obtained a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Henry Gao, CEO of Harvest Fund Management, in which Hunter alleged he He was with his father to pressure Zhao into fulfilling an obligation.
“This WhatsApp message directly links Joe Biden to millions of dollars coming from Communist China,” Cruz said. Now, it’s possible that Hunter Biden was lying, it’s possible that Joe Biden wasn’t on his side. It’s possible that Joe Biden wouldn’t do harm to the Chinese if they didn’t pay him and his son millions of dollars. It’s possible, but you know why we don’t know if that’s true. Or not? Because according to the whistleblower, they didn’t investigate and were prevented from investigating, and were prevented from even asking the question.”
“Let me be clear: this is on the face of it obstruction of justice,” he said. “And if Merrick Garland gives that order, he is obstructing the investigation, and I think there is real evidence that Merrick Garland is guilty of obstruction of justice.”
Cruz, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee who has served in the Senate since 2013, said, “If you had one Democrat who gave a sneak peek at the rule of law, we would have a hearing now with Merrick Garland under oath and we would ask to see every document, we would ask to see every email.” And we ask to see every communication between the Department of Justice and the investigators.
We’re going to put the IRS whistleblower on the stand, under oath, to testify, and we’re going to confront Merrick Garland.”
