To discuss the Sudanese crisis and the Renaissance Dam.. Al-Sisi meets Abi Ahmed in Cairo
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmedwho heads his country’s delegation to participate in the summit of Sudan’s neighboring countries, which will be held today, Thursday, in Cairo.
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, a spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that President Sisi received the Ethiopian Prime Minister at the Ittihadiya Palace, where they discussed ways to settle the crisis in Sudan, strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Ethiopia, and the issue of AlNahda dam.
Fahmy said in a statement that “the two sides discussed ways to settle the crisis in Sudan by peaceful means, in cooperation with neighboring countries.”
He added that the meeting also dealt with the issue of the Renaissance Dam, without giving details or whether the two sides reached an agreement.
Today, Thursday, Egypt will host a summit of Sudan’s neighboring countries, to discuss ways to end the current conflict and its negative repercussions on neighboring countries, and to develop effective mechanisms with the participation of neighboring countries to settle the crisis in Sudan peacefully, in coordination with other regional and international tracks to settle the crisis.
