Russia displays mediation between Trump and Iran

Agencies – Moscow:
The Kremlin announced that future talks between Russia and the United States will include discussions on the Iranian nuclear program.
He added that this is the topic “which was already addressed” in an initial round of talks between the United States and Russia last month.
A familiar source also revealed that Russia offered to be a mediator between the United States and Iran, to facilitate a peaceful solution to the dispute over the Tehran nuclear program.
He added, asking not to be identified, that Russia offered to play the role of the mediator, but it was not asked to play this role.
However, the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York refrained from commenting.
The Kremlin had pledged to do everything in his power to resolve the crisis between the two parties, according to Reuters.
Moscow also reported, quoting Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, that President Vladimir Putin agreed to mediate between Tehran and Washington in talks on nuclear weapons.
This development comes after US President Donald Trump made significant changes to American policy in the aftermath of his office in January, as he took a more reconciliation position towards Russia, which left Western allies in a cautious state.
