We are ready to engage in the political process in Syria

The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, stressed that the full political transformation needs constitutional guarantees that preserve the rights of components, especially the Kurds, noting that “SDF” is ready to engage in the political process whenever stability is achieved and the agreements are fixed.

In response to a question about when Abdi Al -Bazza might take off, he explained that the security threats are still exist, and that the “SDF” forces are spread on the lines of contact with areas that he sees as a threat to the security of the region.

With regard to the negotiation path, Abdi pointed out the existence of practical obstacles, the most prominent of which is the confirmation of the ceasefire and the guarantee of security stability, stressing that some progress is achieved in this field, but that the work is still underway to secure a political and military environment that allows the application of agreed solutions.

The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces said that his forces are in direct contact with Türkiye, as well as in contact with it through intermediaries. He expressed his hope to develop this relationship, and added in a television interview that he was open to improving relations with Ankara, stressing his willingness to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
