8 dead in two separate bombings in northern Syria


Eight people were killed Sunday in two separate car bombings in northern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

On Sunday evening, a car bomb exploded in front of a car repair shop in the village of Shawa, located within the border strip controlled by Turkey and the Syrian factions loyal to it, according to what residents of the area told AFP.

And the Syrian Observatory reported that “the car bomb explosion in the village of Shawa killed five civilians, including three children.”

The explosion also resulted in the injury of ten other people.

The areas controlled by the Turkish forces and their loyal factions in northern Syria are witnessing security chaos, assassinations, and clashes between armed groups. It is also a scene of car and motorcycle bombings, some of which were claimed by ISIS.

No group has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s bombing.

In the nearby city of Manbij, On Sunday morning, three fighters were killed In the ranks of the Manbij Military Council, which is part of the Syrian Democratic Forces, when an explosive device exploded in a car, according to the Syrian Observatory.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and its backbone are Kurdish fighters, control the city of Manbij in the north of the country, which is close to the lines of contact with the areas controlled by the pro-Ankara fighters.
