Atletico Madrid topped the Spanish Football League table, after a 1-0 victory over its guest Osasuna, today, Sunday, in the 19th round of La Liga.
Argentine star Julián Alvarez took on the starring role in the match, after scoring Atletico’s only goal in the 55th minute, as the Spanish capital team continued its awakening after achieving its eighth consecutive victory in the tournament.
This became the first time that Atletico Madrid achieved 14 consecutive victories in various local and continental competitions.

Since its 0-1 loss to host Real Betis last October, Argentine coach Diego Simeone’s team has only known the language of victory.
Atletico Madrid, which achieved its thirteenth victory in the Spanish League this season compared to 5 draws and one loss, rose to 44 points in the lead, with a single point difference in front of its closest rival, its arch-neighbor Real Madrid (the defending champion).
On the other hand, Osasuna, which suffered its sixth loss in the tournament this season compared to 6 wins and 7 draws, stopped at 25 points in eleventh place.
