Epic Games launches RealityScan retail app 3D models from phone images


Epic Games has announced a new smartphone app UK 3D models of objects from a series of smartphone images.

The idea is that you’ll be able to use the app, called RealityScan, to scan an object in the real world — say, a chair — and then scan that app into your game or project.

Open to beta via Apple’s TestFlight platform Open view for 10,000 users.

Opportunity to take photos via the release, you can press and hold to capture or take shots individually, the application asks you to take at least 20 photos depending on the location of the photo.

And it can be a useful tool, 3D models using only your smartphone. The early release version is set for iOS, and an Android version of the app is scheduled to launch later this year.
