Dealers reported that the Algerian oil-producing companies Saudi Aramco and Sonatrach raised the official selling prices of liquefied petroleum gas for the month of February by between 10 and 34% compared to January, amid high oil prices and the scarcity of global supply of this derivative.
Aramco’s official selling price for propane rose $200 to $790 a ton in February, while its official selling price for butane increased $185 to $790 a ton.
Sonatrach’s official selling price for propane increased by $160 to $720 per ton, and the official selling price for butane increased by $60 to $640 per ton, according to Reuters.
The official selling price set by Aramco for LPG is used as a reference for supply contracts from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region. As for the official selling price of Sonatrach, it is a benchmark for the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and Turkey.
