According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the engine room, which is being examined in an attempt to explain the continued emission of fumes until now, and whether this is due to the type of wood from which the boat is made, or for another unknown reason.

According to the information also available, which was obtained by Al-Arabiya.net, the boat is owned by a famous cruise and safari company operating in the cities of Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh and Marsa Alam, and it obtained approval to make the trip from the new marina in Marsa Alam and return to Marina Port Ghalib, and it had to There were 12 Egyptians on board, namely: 10 crew members and two divers, and a tourist group consisting of 15 British tourists and two Egyptians. Twelve Britons and two Egyptians were rescued, and 3 Britons: a woman and two men were burned inside the boat after they were considered missing for a while since the fire broke out.


Regarding the fate of the missing Britons, the investigation authorities are still awaiting the end of the cooling operations to enter the boat and search for them, and a search is underway for the area where the accident occurred and the neighboring areas in search of them as well.

And the Red Sea Governorate had announced that it had received, at exactly 9:15 a.m. yesterday, Sunday, a report of a fire in a safari boat in the city of Marsa Alam, and the initial examination resulted in an electrical short circuit in the engine room, and the Public Prosecution office was transferred for examination and investigation.

For his part, Major General Mohamed Bandari, Secretary General of the Red Sea Governorate, confirmed that the accident came as a result of a fire in the boat called “Hurricane” while it was on a safari trip in the Al-Fostun area, located 25 kilometers north of Marsa Alam, pointing to the rescue of the crew and passengers by the launch called “Blue” and transporting them to the marina. science.
