According to local authorities in California, hikers have found human remains in the San Antonio mountain area of the state, close to the site where British actor Julian Sands went missing five months ago.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the hikers found the remains Saturday morning.
He added that the hikers “contacted the Fontana police station after they discovered the remains near the mountain.”

The remains were taken to the coroner’s office for identification of the dead person. This process is expected to be completed next week.
The 65-year-old actor, who is particularly known for his role in the films “Room with a View” and “Warlock”, has been missing since January 13 in Mount Baldy.
This mountain, also called Mount San Antonio, with a height of 3068 meters, is the highest peak in the San Gabriel mountain range near Los Angeles.
The area is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, but the recent series of storms that hit California have dumped large amounts of snow, making it dangerous.
Born in Yorkshire, northern England, Julian Sands resides in the US state of California, and is an avid nature walker.
The San Bernardino County sheriff said during the storms that the path is becoming more and more dangerous, with eight known deaths between 2017 and 2022.
