The Yemeni Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of the accused in the murder of the 4-year-old girl, Haneen, and the wounding of her sister, Rawia, on the eve of Eid al-Adha in Aden, in a crime that shook public opinion and was met with widespread disapproval among Yemenis.

And the Yemeni Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement, that the perpetrator shot a car belonging to the citizen Ibrahim Salem Abdo, which resulted in the death of the child, Haneen, after she was shot in the chest.

And she indicated that the cause of the accident was due to the perpetrator’s “arrogance” and his display of weapons in the middle of the street, stressing that he was caught in preparation for completing the case file and referring it to the Public Prosecution.

The child, Haneen Ibrahim Al-Bakri, was killed and her sister, Rawya, was injured while they were inside their father’s car on Al-Kathiri Street in Mansoura, after a gunman fired bullets from his personal weapon at the vehicle.

Local sources stated that the car of the father of the two victims, Ibrahim al-Bakri, collided with the car of another person named “Hussein H.” The latter took out his personal weapon and shot Ibrahim’s car with his two daughters inside, which led to the death of the child Hanin directly, and the injury of his other child, Rawia, who is still alive. between life and death in intensive care.

The sources indicated that this crime occurred despite the fact that the collision was “light”, and the scratch on the perpetrator’s car was “minor”.

A human rights network condemned the murder of the child Haneen and the injury of her sister, stressing the need to hold those involved in the incident accountable.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called on the local authorities in Aden to take serious action to end the state of lawlessness and the chaos of carrying weapons in the streets.
