The “Step” initiative comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, which seeks to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for cultural and religious tourism and the initiative aims to introduce visitors, whether from home or abroad, with the path of the migration of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and highlighting the historical events that accompanied this trip Blessed.
It also seeks to enhance the Islamic and human values embodied by immigration, such as patience, sacrifice, and faith in God.
This path extends nearly 470 km, of which 305 kilometers are on foot, providing a unique experience for the participants in tracking the steps of the Holy Prophet.
Where the path starts from the starting point of the migration in Makkah Al -Mukarramah, through the historical sites that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his honorable companions, went through to Medina.
The path includes major stations such as Ghar Thur, where the Prophet and Abu Bakr Al -Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, and the Quba Mosque, were hidden from the first mosque in Islam, all the way to the Prophet’s Mosque.
The path is a major turning point in the economy and social life for more than 30 cities and villages along the way of immigration.
The path has been designed to be interactive, as visitors provide a detailed explanation of each station, with the use of modern technologies such as virtual reality to embody historical events.
The project has been developed in cooperation with historical and governmental institutions to ensure the accuracy of the details, and it is scheduled to be officially opened next November for a period of 6 months. The project aims to provide an educational and cultural experience for visitors, by combining historical information and modern infrastructure, which makes it a major destination for those wishing to explore the details of this historical event.
Tourist guides specialized in Islamic history were also provided to explain the details and importance of the trip.
The initiative includes a series of cultural and religious events, such as historical lectures, art exhibitions that embody immigration events, and workshops that are concerned with studying the Prophet’s biography.
Families and children have also been allocated, as they can participate in educational activities aimed at instilling immigration values in the hearts of new generations.
The “Step” initiative is an important step in promoting religious tourism in the Kingdom, as it provides a unique experience of visitors that combine history, religion and culture.
