Pictures of the wreckage of the submarine Titan, at a depth of 4 thousand meters, turn the communication sites

With the announcement of the death of the passengers of the submarine Titan, which went missing near the wreckage of the famous Titanic a few days ago, After being exposed to an internal explosion (explosion)Two photos appeared on pages and accounts on social media, which were said to show its wreck at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. However, the research proved that the two images had nothing to do with the stricken submarine, but rather the wreckage of the Titanic, which sank more than a century ago.

The two photos show what appear to be debris and remnants of personal belongings at the bottom of the sea. Their publishers said that they show the wreckage of the submarine Titan, 400 meters from the site of the sinking of the Titanic, at a depth of four thousand meters.

The two images garnered hundreds of posts and thousands of comments on social media in several languages around the world.

According to what was proven by the news-checking service of the “Agence France Presse”, these publications began to appear after the announcement, Thursday, of the death of the five passengers of the Titanic submarine, which was lost near the wreck of the Titanic.

Ocean Gate, the submarine’s operator, said in a statement that it believed the five occupants were dead.

On the same day, the US Coast Guard announced that the submarine’s wreckage, which was found nearby by a robot, indicated that there had been a “catastrophic implosion.”

Meanwhile, the two photos circulated on social media appeared, and it was said that they were of the wreckage of the stricken submarine.

However, the truth is that no picture of the submarine wreck was released by the US authorities or rescue teams in the days following the accident.

A coast guard source told AFP on Friday that the authorities “did not release any photos or videos of the wreck.”

The source called for not trusting any image that is not issued in an official statement or published on the official pages on the communication sites.

In addition to the image of the intact submarine attached to some publications, which was previously published on several sites in conjunction with the news about the submarine’s voyage on Titan, inspection of the first image under scrutiny, which appears to be the remains of a shoe, showed that it was published on news websites and news agencies years ago. It’s not the wreckage of the submarine that went missing last week.

Publishing websites and media institutions indicated that the photo was taken in 2004, and it was distributed at that time by American bodies concerned with deep-sea science, and it was filmed at the site of the Titanic wreck.

As for the second photo, it was also published years ago, which also denies that it is recent. It was also taken, similar to the first photo, in the context of a robotic exploration mission surrounding the wreck site of the Titanic, which sank in the second decade of the twentieth century.

These two pictures of the wreckage have nothing to do with what happened with the submarine Titan in any way.
