Android apps secretly steal your passwords – delete them now

Security experts discovered more than 200 applications on the Google Play Store that were loaded with malware capable of stealing people’s passwords.

We put some software – which included fitness, photo-editing and VPN apps, and installing them over a hundred thousand times a serious problem. The malware in question is spyware, which was first discovered in 2021 and got its name because it is able to hack a Facebook login.

Knowing the aspect of user data theft, the user can add “Facebook” cookies in addition to the personal information of the user’s account.

This data can then be used by online fraudsters for identity fraud.

Researchers at Trend Micro discovered hundreds of Play Store apps who also discovered more than 40 fake cryptocurrency apps to cheat in exchange for services provided for or even steal keys meant to access cryptocurrency wallets.

Among the programs that were removed: Daily Fitness OL, Enjoy Photo Editor, Panorama Camera, Photo Gaming Puzzle, Swarm Photo, Business Meta Manager.

Trend advised people on how to stay safe, and advised Android owners to “make sure they go a little deeper into any app before downloading it, check information like the artifact note and look at the developer a bit more.”
